There’s something sacred about being invited into a wedding day with a camera in hand. While guests are fully present, celebrating, laughing, and catching up with loved ones, I’m quietly watching the in-between. The moments that happen just outside the spotlight. The ones that often go unnoticed, but end up meaning everything later.
Over the years, I’ve realized that what I’m drawn to isn’t just the big moments. It’s the subtle, fleeting, deeply human ones.

The Way Your Mom Looks at You
It’s not always during the first look or the walk down the aisle. Sometimes it’s earlier, when she’s helping you button your dress, pausing for just a second to take it all in. There’s pride, nostalgia, and a quiet realization that everything is changing.
Those are the moments that feel the most tender.

Grandparents Taking It All In
They may not be on the dance floor all night, but they’re watching everything. Sitting a little off to the side, holding hands, smiling softly as the day unfolds. There’s so much history in their presence.
I always make a point to notice them. To document the way they look at you, because it carries a different kind of weight.

The Quick, Unscripted Kisses
Not the dip kiss or the perfectly posed one. The quick forehead kiss before the ceremony starts. The hand squeeze during dinner. The small, instinctive ways you reach for each other when no one else is watching.
Those moments tell the real story.
Hugs That Last a Second Longer
When a friend pulls you in and doesn’t let go right away. When a parent lingers just a little longer than expected. There’s emotion in that pause, in the hesitation to let the moment pass.
It’s subtle, but it says everything.
The Light as It Falls
Lighting changes everything. Guests may not notice when the sun dips just low enough to create that soft glow during cocktail hour, or when the reception space shifts from bright and airy to warm and intimate. But I do. I’m constantly watching how light moves across your day, how it wraps around you, how it shapes the feeling of each moment. It’s one of the quiet storytellers.

The In-Between
Weddings aren’t just a series of events. They’re made up of everything that happens in between. The deep breaths before you walk down the aisle. The way your dress moves as you walk through a doorway. The laughter that happens when no one’s posing for a photo.
These are the moments that bring your gallery to life.
And they’re often the ones you didn’t even realize were happening.
